OUR HISTORY

How we started

Newcom is a power trading company born out of the enterprising spirit of  Comerc Energia and the experience of executives in large companies in the Brazilian electrical sector. 

Our operations started in 2018. We are agile yet have robust processes and financial strength. Focused on power trading, we promote liquidity and estruture operations for companies in several segments of electricity value chain: consumers, generators, traders and distributors. 


From the very beginning, Newcom has been a reference for the market, with high performance and uncompromising advocacy for a more sustainable, ethical unregulated market for energy in Brazil.

Gustavo Pinotti Moura Gomes

Trading

Head of the CPFL Energia trading desk between 2016 and 2018,  previously energy trader for 5 years in the same company. He also worked at Camargo Correa and participated in the construction of the Jirau HPP in Rondônia.  Pinotti  graduated  in Business Administration from Facamp Campinas, and holds a  post-graduate degree in Financial Management from FIA-SP.

Daniel Marrocos Camposilvan

Regulation and Strategy

Former CEO at CPFL Trading Brazil from 2015 to 2018. Between 2000 and 2015, Marrocos worked in the trading desk, and in different areas such as market intelligence, economic and financial investment modeling in generation and market rules at CPFL Energia, CCEE and CEPEL/Eletrobrás. Elected member of the Abraceel Administrative Board in 2017-2018 and 2019-2020, Marrocos is an engineer and holds a M.S. degree  in Electrical Engineering from the Federal University of Itajubá.

Edson André Saito

Trading

Worked at Comerc Energia between 2014 and 2018 as an energy trader at the trading desk and was a free market contract manager. He also managed large consumers at Delta Energia between 2013 and 2014 and worked on new projects at Banco Itaú between 2011 and 2013.  Saito holds a degree in Electrical Engineering from Anhembi Morumbi University.

Worked as Portfolio Manager for Interest and FX at BTG Pactual from 2016 to 2019. Also worked in Fixed Income Trading and ALM management in Credit-Suisse's treasury from 2015 to 2016 and in Sales & Trading of variable income derivatives at XP Investimentos from 2014 to 2015. He is an engineer with a M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from POLI-USP, specializing in energy, pricing and portfolio management in the energy market.

Former Managing Partner of Matrix Trading,  responsible for the trading desk between 2016 and 2018.  Head of commercial and trading desk at EdP Comercializadora between 2012 and 2016; worked at Elektro (Iberdrola group) in energy trading and supply between 2000 and 2012. Graduated in Business  Administration from PUC-Campinas, post-graduate degree in Business Management from FGV and MBA in Finance from Insper-SP, certified Market Operator for electrical energy.

Worked in  risk and portfolio. at Matrix Trading between 2016 and 2018 Also worked at EdP Comercializadora in market research  between 2015 and 2016. He graduated in Electrical  Engineering from the University of São Paulo and is currently taking post-graduate courses in Finance at Insper.
